Drake Doremus is a director whose work in film, commercials and branded content has established him as one of today’s most exciting storytellers. His latest feature film is a sci-fi romance called Equals, starring Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult, which premiered at Venice Film Festival and screens this month at Tribeca. He broke through in 2011 with Sundance Grand Prix winner Like Crazy, starring Felicity Jones, Jennifer Lawrence and Anton Yelchin. Two years later, his branded campaign for Intel “The Beauty Inside,” won three Cannes Grand Prix awards and an EMMY.
A Southern California native, Drake studied directing at the American Film Institute and was the youngest director ever to be accepted into the AFI Conservatory. His commercial work includes TV spots and digital films for brands such as Google, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Orange and Johnson & Johnson. He also co-wrote and directed the feature film Breathe In starring Guy Pearce, Felicity Jones and Amy Ryan which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, and his dark comedy Douchebag was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2010.
